Slider in a Rotating Tube

Slider in a Rotating Tube#

A vertical hollow tube rotating about its vertical axis at omega rad per second is connected to a horizontal hollow tube in which a slider P moves under control of a string. The distance from the slider to the point of connection is R. The tension in the string acts downwards.

The hollow tube above rotates about its vertical axis at ω=θ˙=params.wrad/s and ω˙=θ¨=params.wdotrad/s2. A small params.mkg slider P moves inside the horizontal portion under the control of a string which is being pulled out the bottom of the tube. If r=params.rm, r˙=params.rdotm/s,and r¨=params.rddotm/s2, Determine the tension T in the string and the magnitude of the horizontal force F_θ exerted on the tube by the slider.
