    • Worked with PHAS faculty members on course and program changes at the undergraduate and graduate level.

    • Interviewed and compiled the graduate student report on five candidates interviewing for the position of a new Planetary Physics faculty member

    • Planned social and academic events such as the department open house for new students and the start of year

  • MRI Group Seminar (Chair) August 2009 - December 2010

    • Organized speakers for bi-monthly seminars from senior members of the MR group and including PhDs, Post-docs and Faculty members at the University of Toronto.

  • Medical Biophysics Graduate Students Association (President) August 2009 - December 2010

    • Participated in the external departmental review commissioned by the Faculty of Graduate Studies

    • Led a team of 10 graduate students that planned department-wide social events for over 100 students

    • Assisted the department with student recruitment by giving tours of facilities available to the Medical Biophysics department.

  • Connect Global Youth Association (Founder & Director) May 2008 - Present

    • CGYA runs an annual conference called Connect Model United Nations for over 600 students across British Columbia

    • CGYA is a non-profit organization that aims to engage students in global issues with a specific focus on security, health and finance

    • My duties include ensuring the organization’s long term financial viability and that all participants adhere to our core values

  • Camp Aspire (Chair) June 2016 - Present

    Madrasah Az-Zahraa, Richmond, BC

    • Helped plan a weekend camp for students between Grade 8-10 in the Pemburton Valley

    • Encouraged a fully Islamic environment in the camp at all times

    • Coordinated nature-based activities for students so they could try to make connections between God and Nature

  • Teacher Skills and Tools Workshop (Participant) January 14-15, 2017

    NASIMCO Centre of Islamic Learning, Richmond, BC

    • Learned practical skills, tools and resources using current teaching methodologies that bridge the gap between secular school and religious school

    • Practiced creating a student-centred learning environment with a better understanding of multiple intelligences and emotional intelligence

    • Hands-on experience in planning, creating, and delivering effective lessons

  • Madrasah Az-Zahraa (Teacher) January 2015 - Present

    • Taught students between Grade 6 to Grade 10 Islamic subjects such as Laws, Beliefs, History, and Behaviour

    • Worked with Teacher Support Workers to implement inclusive teaching methods currently used in K-12 classrooms

    • Planned interactive activities and lessons based on content from a textbook; provided formal feedback to parents about student progress
